Professional probate/letters legal service (basic) at $990.00 (inc GST)
In addition, you must pay the third party outlays for probate/letters (the same for all) which currently total $897.30 and comprise:
- Supreme Court of Qld filing fee of $735.60; and
- Qld Law Reporter advertising fee of $161.70.
Therefore the total cost to the estate is $1,887.30 inclusive of legal fees, advertising, court fees and GST.
This service is suitable for uncomplicated common form grants of probate or letters of administration in Queensland where the applicant is comfortable directly paying the outlays and filing with the court. An experienced probate practitioner will –
- scrutinise any testamentary documents and the death certificate
- confer directly with the applicant as needed (by telephone and e-mail)
- prepare the public notice (including clearing-off creditors)
- guide the applicant to book and pay for the due publication and service of the notice.
- draft an affidavit of publication of service
- draft an affidavit for signing by the applicant including endorsement of exhibits
- send affidavits and exhibits to the applicant for signing (with a return pre-paid registered envelope)
- Check all materials before filing with the court
