Professional fees

The table below gives you our estimated professional charges for suing a debtor in the Magistrates Court and obtaining a default judgment against them (because they do not enter a defence). About 60% to 75% of the fee may be included in and recovered as part of the claim. For claims over $50,000 please contact us for an estimate. Claims over $150,000 are filed in the District Court except for claims over $750,000 which are filed in the Supreme Court.

In addition to the professional fee is the court filing fee which is 100% included and recoverable as part of the claim. The relevant amounts are:

$261.45 if claim $10,000 to $50,000

$335.15 if claim $50,000 to $100,000 (individual)

$526.35 if claim $50,000 to $100,000 (non-individual)

$656.95 if claim of $100,000 or more (non-individual)
